“I never want to be tied down to one particular idea or concept. It takes strategy to reach a particular audience. It’s a God-given talent and I'm thankful for that. You have got to captivate onlookers—give clients the tools to get the audience they want.”

Yvette’s authentic style communicates ideas of her clients—bringing their brand’s voice to life. Her work, of commercial and individual subjects, can be seen locally and nationally. The titles she’s founded and published include St Augustine Magazine aka SAM, Old City Life (St. Augustine, FL), Gallop Magazine (Naples, FL), and Pittsburgh Style Magazine (Pittsburgh, PA). Other than that; she has a Grandson named Nathan, she's a member of Anastasia Baptist Church, loves Saint Augustine and its people, has a cat named Bikini Kitty, is an advocate for sufferers of Vitiligo, loves eating  and cooking, painting and training horses. When it comes to photography her unique approach captures iconic images of local personalities, situations, scenes, and events. She is passionate when creating a custom layout and production design for magazines, advertisements, and logos.

I just discovered this wonderful magazine of yours! It's vibrant and whimsy, and very representative of the quaint St. Augustine vibe that I've encountered. …Your magazine seems perfect for me, style- and location-wise.

   —Kayla Murray [reader]

It's a classy publication that our guests will love and want to take home with them!

   —Joe Finnegan [St. Francis Inn]

As a Saint Augustine resident, I enjoy keeping up with exciting events in town, and I am thankful for all of the local "printed" material.

   —James Statzer [reader]

Not many communities are lucky enough to have a local magazine dedicated to informing and celebrating the events, activities, and functions that go on year to year. Very, very few are fortunate enough to have a local magazine of the quality of the Old City Life. Not only does it showcase restaurants, retail, establishments, attractions, and sites of interest, there is nothing more fun than seeing your picture in the magazine as you attend one of the local events (unfortunately, the camera seems to add 20 lbs to my face, but everybody else looks darn good).  Let's be honest everyone, the first thing you do when you get Old City Life is looking for your picture.  But for me, there is nothing more fun than to see Old City Life owner and publisher, Yvette Monell, come breeze into an event and start snapping pictures of everyone having a great time. Thanks, Yvette for what you do for our community showcasing us all and putting us in the best light.

—Joseph L. Boles Jr. [Attorney at Law &  past Mayor of Saint Augustine Florida]

Hello Yvette, I wanted to take this time today to say THANK YOU to you and the staff of Old City Life for everything that you have done for me and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Florida this year. Your support of our organization is priceless…

—Andrea A. Siracusa [Director of Development Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Florida]

Dear Yvette, I want to personally thank you for the wonderful “Orchids for Hospice” event. It was lovely, and we are so grateful for the funds you raised through the event and awareness of the Bailey Family Center campaign — both through the article and the event. I enjoyed meeting you and look forward to future projects! Thank you so much for your kindness and commitment.

—DeAnn J. Collins [Community Hospice Foundation]

Dear Yvette, On behalf of the Board of Directors, our membership and the local community of art enthusiasts, I want to express our sincere gratitude to you for featuring Jean Wagner Troemel on the February 2010 cover of Old City Life Magazine. The Patron’s Benefit and month-long exhibit have been a resounding success, raising thousands of dollars for our youth art programs and art access initiatives for children with special needs. We appreciate your partnership in this endeavor and are especially grateful for the kindness and support you showed Jean, moving paintings and providing us with all the “cover girl” magazines to make available to our visitors. Jean has been on “Cloud 9,” thanks in large part to you! For the love of art and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!

—Elyse Brady [St. Augustine Art Association]

I have been receiving and following your magazine “Old City Life” and I am writing to tell you what a great publication I think it is. It is a very refreshing approach to covering life in our great county and it is produced with extreme taste and artistry. Both my wife and I truly enjoy reading it and look forward to the arrival of future editions. In this time of strife and difficulty, it is nice to know that a media outlet is still interested and focused on positive stories. I wish you continued success with the publication.

—David B. Shoar [Sheriff St. Johns County]

I LOVE THE STORY!!!!! I’ve said it before, but I love OCL... I look forward to reading it every month. Thank you so much for your generosity this past year and I know this year will be the best!!

—Melissa Clements [Owner Small Indulgences Day Spa]

Yvette, Your enthusiasm, and love of the community shines when you speak, and through each page of OCL. I thoroughly enjoyed the February OCL, and I’m sure Gallop Magazine will meet the same ultra-high dynamic.

—Margo Geer [Member Saint Augustine Yacht Club]

Dear Yvette, It’s been one week since the highly successful Orchids For Hospice event took place. I’ve been thinking of all the incredible work that you both did to help put this event together and have been truly humbled by and very grateful for all of it.  It is truly the start of a new trend, how fantastic that would be — for it was a beautiful occasion and a phenomenal cause has been helped. Thank you for your willingness to put the whole thing together with the PR and “buzz” it generated you can truly be proud. May God continue to bless you both in the works that you do focusing on the charity and goodness of the people in St. Augustine.  All who meet you are impressed and blessed by your work. What seemingly is easily accomplished and “put together” by you in this regard is just short of miraculous. I know why and so do you. May the Peace of Christ be with you both now and in the future.

   —Kathleen Florian [Prudential Real Estate]

I’m especially proud of you and your staff for spearheading a magazine that speaks of the good and great in my hometown! Thanks for your Splendid Beautiful Magazine!

—Carrie Johnson [The Voice of Lincolnville]

Dear Yvette, I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your staff for covering the St. Johns County Welfare Federation’s Annual Meeting at which I was honored as their 2006 Community Volunteer of the Year. I appreciate your taking time to photograph my family and the Board and for including the article about the event in the recent issue. Incidentally, I am now a subscriber to the magazine and think you’re doing a great job of covering local events and news. Thank you again for everything.

—John D. Bailey, Sr. [The Bailey Group]

Dear Friends at Old City Life, Thank you so much for giving the extra copies of your awesome magazine covering St. Augustine. We love it. Again, thank you and a joyous holiday season with a spectacularly successful 2010.

   —Faith Tiberio [First Coast Opera]

Thank you for including the St. Augustine Club as a sponsor of the “Orchids for Hospice” event. It was very well organized and seemed to be quite successful. SAYC was very proud to be part of it. I hope we have another opportunity to work together soon!

—Douglas N. Burnett [St. Johns Law Group]

Thank you for placing an advertisement in our parish bulletin. The ads defray all of the publishing costs of our bulletin. Be assured we will encourage all of our parishioners to patronize our advertisers - building a better community for all of us.
